This four-year degree prepares students to teach ASL & Deaf Studies in secondary education (grades 7-12) settings. Students take major courses from the Languages department and licensure courses through the School of Education. This degree requires separate application to the School of Education. Bachelor of Arts in ASL and Deaf Studies Education. The program is offered in online, hybrid, and onsite formats and may be completed in one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study. Three specializations are offered at this time: Educating Students with Disabilities (online), ASL/English Bilingual Early Childhood Education (online), and Self-Designed (onsite or hybrid).Of the 224 students graduating with degrees at the Bachelors degree level across the US, 86% percent identify as women and 14% percent identify as men.
